Kegworth Flower Festival Opens 11th to 12th May

After months of preparation the Kegworth Flower Festival is to be staged this week, Friday 11th and Saturday 12th May 2012, at St Andrew's Church.
St Andrew's Church in Kegworth displayingFlower Festival bannerThe theme of the Festival is 'Think of a Number' and over 25 interpretations of a word or phrase containing a number will be displayed.
The festival starts on Friday 11th May at 10.00am with the children of Kegworth Primary School entertaining in song. On Saturday 12th May at 7.30pm there is a concert featuring Shepshed Singers performing Bob Chillcott's 'Making of the Drum' and other pieces and Kegworth Players reminding us of the works of Dickens. Admission is £5 payable on the door.
For the duration of the festival refreshments will be available in church and there will be a grand prize draw with valuable prizes donated by local businesses and people.
The ever popular plant stall will be open at 41 Whatton Road on each day.
The church will be open 10am - 6pm each day with a festival Eucharist at 10.30am and Evensong at 6.15pm on Sunday 13th May.
All profit will be used to keep St Andrew's Church open for worship, rememberances and celebrations for the parish.
