ESCAP Statistical Database
The ESCAP online statistical database provides a regional perspective on development issues in Asia and the Pacific. The database, covering ESCAP 58 regional member countries, contains over 600 data series on a wide range of topics on population, education, health, poverty and inequalities, gender, economy, environment and connectivity. The online database is updated twice a year. The latest update took place on 9 March 2015 (see list of indicator update March 2015)
Data Visualization
The data visualization area offers alternative ways for users to explore ESCAP Statistical Database through a choice of interactive tools to generate time-animated statistical charts and maps.
Statistical Yearbook for Asia and the Pacific
The Statistical Yearbook for Asia and the Pacific, will be available as a printed product every other year. TheStatistical Yearbook 2014 is published as an electronic file only, it consists of (1) short analytical texts on 32 selected diverse topics, such as population, education, health, poverty and inequalities, gender, economy, environment and connectivity in the region and related key messages as well as relevant data tables, and (2) country profiles of main development indicators for each of the 58 regional member countries/areas of ESCAP.

The seventy-first session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific will be held from 25-29 May 2015 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
Event Description
The seventy-first session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) will be held from 25 to 29 May 2015 at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Meeting at the ministerial level, the members of the Commission will discuss and decide on important issues pertaining to inclusive and sustainable economic and social development in the region and make recommendations to its subsidiary bodies and to the Executive Secretary.
The session will comprise two segments: the senior officials segment, which will be held from 25 to 27 May; and the ministerial segment on 28 and 29 May. The Special Body on Least Developed, Landlocked Developing and Pacific Island Developing Countries will meet on Wednesday, 27 May and its preparatory meeting will be held on 26 May.
Papersmart initiatives
As part of the efforts by the Commission to reduce the amount of paper used in conjunction with its sessions, please note that only one printed set of documents will be distributed to each ESCAP member State and associate member delegation. All documents can be downloaded from the Commission website at www.unescap.org/commission. USB flash drives containing pre-session documents and other relevant information will be distributed to each participant upon arrival at the United Nations Conference Centre. Furthermore, meeting rooms and public areas at the Conference Centre are equipped with WIFI access and power sources.
In addition to being environmentally friendly and reducing wastage, the papersmart model of meetings facilitates quick availability of documents and delegate statements accross the world.
